TERESA ANN EVANS BEARD
At 2:30 on the morning of June 19th, 1993, a Chattanooga patrol officer responding to an unrelated call saw a woman lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the street at the intersection of Adams and East 17th. Someone had repeatedly stabbed Teresa Ann Beard in the chest.
Detectives found a knife believed to be the murder weapon on Washington Street, one block away from the murder scene. They quickly interviewed a number of people, trying to piece together what happened. Teresa was seen multiple times in the hours leading up to her death. Someone saw her with a man going into a house that rented rooms by the hour. Then later that night, witnesses saw her with others inside a nightclub on Main Street.
Cold Case Unit investigator Sergeant Bill Phillips says someone in our area can help solve this case. "We've interviewed a lot of people that knew Teresa, that saw Teresa that night. And there's really no question in my mind that at least one of these people are not telling us everything that they know."
