FRANKLIN A BONNER
Update: In June 2018, the Hamilton County Grand Jury returned indictments of felony murder and especially aggravated robbery against Mallory Aunte Vaughn for the death of Franklin Bonner. Linda Bonner returned home from work to her Washington Hills house late in the afternoon of Friday, January 16, 2009, to find her life forever altered. |
Inside the house at 4707 Enterprise Lane, her 68-year old husband, Franklin, was dead. He had been bound and gagged, and a medical examiner determined Bonner had suffocated when duct tape was placed over his mouth and nose.
Detectives say Bonner was a known numbers runner in the neighborhood and they believe the suspects may have been looking for money. The Bonners' house had been ransacked.
Neighbors last saw Mr. Bonner at two o'clock that afternoon. He was dead when his wife arrived three and a half hours later.
Bonner, a retired Chattanooga Public Works employee, left behind a daughter and a son who want to see justice served for their father's killers.
