OUR STAFFHAVE INFO? |
Less than a month after taking office, on September 30, 2014, District Attorney General Neal Pinkston announced the creation of a Cold Case Unit.
He hired retired Chattanooga Police Captain Mike Mathis to oversee the unit. Both the Chattanooga Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office each assign a detective to the unit, which is dedicated to reviewing and investigating the 200 unsolved homicides and missing persons cases in Hamilton County. At any one time, the unit is reviewing at least a half dozen cases, continually re-prioritizing as new leads are received. The public can play a key role in solving cold cases, so we ask you contact us if you have information -- no matter how insignificant it seems. What may not seem important to you could end up being a huge part of the overall puzzle we need to complete to give a victim's family answers. |
