DWANA DIXON
It was early morning, September 2, 2011. Dwana Dixon and a friend were sitting outside Dixon's apartment building on Dodson Avenue.
Dixon was a mother and grandmother, whom friends describe as 'full of life,' someone who would brighten up everyone around her. That Friday morning, Dixon's boyfriend headed for a convenience store. A few minutes later, shots rang out. Investigators believe the shooter was on foot. Other than that, there's little to go on. This area of East Chattanooga is very quiet. Calls to Dixon's apartment complex were rare. That leads detectives to suspect someone was targeted. |
But they don't know if Dixon was the intended target. It may have been her boyfriend, or the friend sitting with her outside that morning.
