"JANE DOE"
On March 29, 1999, two construction workers discovered a body floating in Chattanooga Creek, just off I-24, near the 2400 block of Cannon Avenue.
An autopsy determined the body was that of a black female, about 5'4" tall, between 40 and 55 years old. The woman had weighed between 120 and 130 pounds and had dark hair. A forensic anthropologist said the woman would have been remembered because of the poor condition of her teeth. She was missing most of her front teeth and the remaining few were rotten. |
It is impossible to pursue the woman's killer until we are able to determine the victim's identity.
Once we know who the woman is, we can then backtrack to trace her last steps and find out who she was with in the hours leading up to her death.
