CLYDE HILL

Picture
Clyde Hill with his nephew, Hank Hill
On February 18, 1991, the body of 63-year old Clyde Hill was discovered inside his home at 2008 Dayton Boulevard.

Clyde's brother and sister-in-law drove to his apartment to check on him because Clyde had the flu and they hadn't heard from him. When they arrived, Clyde's silver 1980 Lincoln was gone and no one answered when they knocked on the door.

The couple had a key to Clyde's apartment so they went inside and found him lying dead on the floor. His hands had been bound behind his back with a phone cord. He had been strangled with a pair of long thermal underwear.

Investigators do not believe much was taken from inside Clyde's apartment. Several items of jewelry and a semi-automatic handgun were still there.

However, Clyde's wallet was found in the front seat of his car which was later recovered near the intersection of Morrison Springs Road and Highway 27. The wallet was empty, leading investigators to suspect the killer may have taken money out of it and tossed it in the front seat as he abandoned the car.
Original Investigating Agency: Red Bank Police Department
