Family members of Marland Jones say it was out of character for him not to stay in contact. So when a couple of weeks passed without any word from Jones, his estranged wife and his sister reported him missing. 

Jones' live-in girlfriend told investigators she was out of town when he disappeared. When she came home, the front door was wide open but all of Jones' belongings were still in the house.
There were several outstanding warrants for Jones' arrest at the time of his disappearance. But he shared a child with his estranged wife and was an active father. His family insists he would not voluntarily disappear without letting them know.
