OLIVER MILLSAPS

Picture
Oliver Millsaps was the victim in a carjacking and assault that turned into an unsolved murder case.

On November 16, 2002, the 77-year old was walking to his pickup truck in the parking lot of the K-Mart on Highway 58. Mr Millsaps was recovering from open heart surgery and was in frail condition.

As he approached his truck, a man walked up to him, forced Millsaps inside the truck and ordered him to drive to Greenwood Cemetery.

When they arrived at the cemetery, the carjacker got out of the truck and walked around to the driver's side door. He pulled Mr. Millsaps out of the truck, threw him to the ground, and beat him. Millsaps never recovered from his injuries.

A week later, Mr. Millsaps' truck was found at the same K-Mart parking lot. The keys weren't in the ignition, leading police to think the suspect may have been inside the store when the truck was recovered but officers were unable to find him.
