The devoted nurses and advocates will help victims by attending to physical, emotional and educational needs. Nurses can provide forensic medical examination and other medical screenings to determine if further treatment is recommended. Evidence collected is stored and protected for prosecution. Victims are not required to report to law enforcement as a condition of receiving services. Sexual Assault Advocates are available to provide crisis counseling, legal advocacy, court advocacy, follow-up case management and resource referrals. The location of the shelter is confidential. A case manager will assess the individual's current needs and create goals that may include counseling, legal advocacy, housing and employment. Counseling referrals are available to anyone who has experienced domestic violence and does not require the individual to be a resident of the shelter. A Domestic Violence Support Group for non-residents is held every Thursday from 6:30pm until 7:30pm. elder abuse

Services are free and confidential to residents of Hamilton County, Tennessee. CACHC counselors have very specialized training in trauma-focused cognitive-based therapy for children. They provide direct assessment, therapy, and support services. The CACHC family advocate assists non-offending parents or care-takers with services needed to maintain a safe and stable environment for their children, including filing for Victim’s Compensation Funds.
