MONTERIUS DEVAUGHN ROLLINS

Picture
On October 5th, 2012, Monterius DeVaughn "Boo" Rollins was visiting friends on Arcadia Avenue when he was gunned down in broad daylight.

Around 3:30 that Friday afternoon, neighbors heard gunshots -- a lot of gunshots -- and called 911.

Responding officers found Monterius had been shot in the stomach.

At least one neighbor saw the shooter running away from the scene but didn't get a good look at him.

Monterius Rollins was 18 and a recent high school grad. He was attending Chattanooga State, where he wanted to pursue a degree in culinary arts.

At the time of the murder, Corey Davis told Channel 3 Eyewitness News he couldn't imagine why anyone would want his friend dead.
"He smiled. Every time you see him, he's going to smile...He was just starting off his life. It was just the beginning."
